Mission and Staff

Welcome to Triple Threat Theater Productions!

The Mission and Vision of Triple Threat

Transforming lives and communities through excellent theater education

We believe in
  • Reflecting God’s image
    • Triple Threat believes that we are all created in the image of God (Genesis 1:27, Psalm 139:14). This means that we reflect God’s image when we create art and treat each other with dignity and respect regardless of race, gender, faith systems, or socioeconomic status.
  • Excellence in theater
    • We do theater excellently to celebrate God’s gifts in performance art (Phillipians 4:8, Exodus 35 and 36, Romans 12:3-8).
    • We are reflecting God’s image as storytellers by producing art that celebrates truth about him, the world, and our place in it.
  • Creating community
    • Theatrical arts have a unique ability to create community and bridge strong connections between different groups. Enjoying theater as a community should not be restricted by talent, socioeconomic status, ethnicity, gender, or age.

The Team

Picture
Andy Boettcher (Artistic Director) co-founded Triple Threat Theater Productions with Jessi Barakat and Brittany Boettcher in 2014.

Before founding Triple Threat, Andy has worked summer theater director for ESF Summer Camps, Assistant Director for The Arts Camp (now CAST), and Resident Director for Sovereign Grace Church's Summer Blast. His performance credits include Les Miserables (Valjean), West Side Story (Tony), Beauty and the Beast (Beast), Titanic the Musical (Barrett), Dogfight (Eddie Birdlace), Brigadoon (Tommy), and Aida (Radames). His most recent credit is understudy to Beast in the Walnut Street Theater's recent production of Beauty and Beast. You can also see him singing regularly with Sovereign Grace Church's worship band and A1 Entertainment's Crooner's Series.

Andy's passion to spread the power of theater arts has taken him to the schools of Philadelphia and Camden City.  He directed and produced the first musical at Woodrow Wilson High School in over 45 years and founded the Theater Program Mastery High School of Camden. He also serves as a Guest Teaching Artist at the Walnut Street Theater's Adopt a School program, partnering with Philadelphia teachers to expand theater arts in young people and develop their social/emotional learning.

His favorite directing credits include Matilda Jr, Beauty and the Beast Jr, Suessical Jr, The Lion King Jr, Once On This Island Jr,  and Les Miserables HSE.

He currently holds a Master's Degree in Theater from Regent University.

Courtney Gager (Managing Director) grew up in Virginia where she loved singing, dancing, and acting. She performed as a Citrus Bowl Halftime Dancer, in the Virginia All-State Choir, and in various musicals at her school and local theater company. Toward the end of high school she somehow convinced her parents and academic advisor to allow her to enroll in zero math classes, two show choirs, and one concert choir (which won first place at an international competition that year - so, no regrets). Courtney spent summers throughout college working at George Mason University’s Freedom Center where she pioneered the center’s first children’s musical theater camps. She moved to South Jersey when she married her husband, Kyle. She is delighted to be back in the theater world alongside her kids and is so grateful to Kyle for championing the time she spends here.

Jacinda Wallace (Associate Director) is thrilled to make her directorial debut with Triple Threat Theater Productions this summer. She holds a BFA in Theatre Performance from Marshall University and an MFA in Acting from Regent University. Her diverse experience spans acting, directing, backstage work at theaters such as RoleCall Theater in Atlanta, and serving as a teaching artist for theatre programs and youth summer camps. Some of her favorite stage roles include Britney Spears in Miss American Dream and Madeline Livingston in The Women of Lockerbie. Jacinda is grateful to the Lord for the opportunity to serve on this team and is excited to create a joyful, supportive environment where every child feels empowered to shine onstage!

Kirsten Braatz (Associate Director) A graduate of Baylor University, she has a passion for storytelling and performance that has shaped her career. She previously worked at Walt Disney World and is now a full time acting coach as well as having the pleasure of serving as a middle school theater director. In addition to working with students, she directs & choreographs productions for the local community, fostering a love for theater in performers of all ages.  Special shout outs to God, Jerry, Zach, Logan, and my beautiful partners in crime- Susan and Maggie! Wouldn’t be able to do any of this without you! I’m so very thankful!

Liv Crisp (Associate Director) This is Liv's tenth season with Triple Threat. While she started out on the stage (starring in shows such as Aladdin Jr. and Bye Bye Birdie) she quickly realized that she preferred the “behind the scenes” aspect of theater much more. Liv wears many hats in this company; she has stage managed shows from Elf Jr. to Spongebob the Musical. She has also assistant directed a number of productions at Triple Threat, including Newsies and Something Rotten!  This past summer she wore all of those hats in Directing Finding Nemo KIDS, Assistant Directing Legally Blonde, and stage managing Anastasia.

Jon Schimpf (Associate Director), an alumni of Triple Threat, has been involved in the performing arts since he was very young, but really developed a passion for acting in middle and high school. Since then, Jon has been involved both backstage and on-stage in a variety of different plays, musicals, and one-acts. Some of his favorite acting credits include Disney's Beauty and the Beast (Lumiere), Shakespeare's As You Like It (Orlando), and Hairspray (Link Larkin). In high school, Jon was given the opportunity to direct a production of Shakespeare’s "The Tempest", and fell in love with the craft. During his time in college, Jon directed numerous shows for various companies, and took the position of director at Triple Threat in 2020. Some of Jon's favorite directing credits include Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Legally Blonde Jr., and Seussical Jr., and hopefully many more in the future. Jon holds a Bachelor of Arts from Covenant College where he sang with their traveling Madrigal Choir and creatively assisted with their theater and music productions. Jon now works full time as a school counselor at The Philadelphia Classical School.
